Our People
Graham Millar
Graham joined the firm in January 2011 with an already well established reputation as an expert in employment law. This area is often seen as a moveable feast as the legislation, regulation and case law can change so quickly. It is imperative to have an adviser who not only keeps you up to date but also has a pragmatic and sensible approach to the advice required. With over 10 years of experience in employment law, Graham uses this experience for the benefit of his clients, who range from SME’s and owner managed business up to charities, PLC’s and public bodies. He has a particular specialism within education and housing associations. Graham’s 18 month secondment, leading the team providing HR services to a UK wide public body, has given him a valuable insight - not only into what HR issues can arise for employers, but also ways to resolve them. He regularly advises on complex TUPE and discrimination issues, including equal pay. Clients welcome Graham’s knowledge and experience in this field, relying on him for advice and training to keep individuals, staff and business up to date. Graham’s ability to create and deliver training sessions, tailored to the needs of each client, allows him to ensure the HR and employment aspects of client’s businesses are running smoothly. As well as this advice and training Graham is involved in complex drafting matters and contentious tribunal attendances, up to Employment Appeal Tribunals. His pragmatic and solution driven advice can often avoid tribunals but, in the event such a situation arises, he is well placed to advise and represent at all levels and throughout the UK in the Employment Tribunal circuit.
