Edinburgh HQ for the Green Investment Bank!

In an exciting development for the Scottish economy, and for “green" developments more widely, it has been announced that the new Green Investment Bank HQ will be in Edinburgh – the city beating off competition from 18 other cities throughout the UK. The Green Investment Bank will, amongst other things, provide funding for new offshore wind farms.
Some £3bn of public money is being used to set up the Green Investment Bank which will also help firms finance early-stage renewable energy schemes.
Scottish Secretary Michael Moore said it was a huge vote of confidence in Edinburgh's financial sector and Scotland's role in the green economy.
Andrew Smith, the head of our Renewables Team, commented,“The Green Investment Bank represents a great opportunity for Edinburgh and Scotland to further cement its place as a leading green economy".
